Intro

The objective of this project was to create a poster using one or more Pompeii artifacts, but to get started I had to visit the exhibit at the ROM  to get ideas and take pictures for reference along with either sketched thumbnails or crop down the digital photos of them.

The lesson of this project was to learn what it is like to be hired as a designer to create an advertisement that encourages the public to visit the exhibit and following the criteria of using only the artifacts on display to promote it.
Prep

The next step after my professor approved the thumbnails and chose one of the ideas I got the materials needed to make the poster and here is what I got.
-Prismacolor pencils
Canson paper 9 x 12 either black or assorted colors
Tracing Paper
White Sharpie
HB pencil
Eraser
12.5 x15 envelope
9 x 12 poster template on 11 x 14 tabloid paper
After I printed the circle palette template for my color palette I placed it over the canson paper to transfer using a HB pencil in the process.
Once I drew the circles I colored one row at a time with the Prismacolor pencils using the colors that suited best for my design starting one row from top to bottom and did the same for the others while also creating other colors by overlapping starting from the second row on top to the left and repeating the same sequence for each one.
To layout the poster I traced a printed tabloid copy of the poster I created to get the grid and text along with the logo to later transfer over to the canson paper to get the correct outlines.
Final Product

Last step was to color in the design using Prismacolor pencils one section at a time, render the text, and cilent logo in a white sharpie for a greater crispness. Once I finished the project I packaged in an envelope and labeled it.
